Applique borders…

Applique borders... by ruthiequilts
Applique borders…, a photo by ruthiequilts on Flickr.

I’m working on my round robin border for one of the Roy Quilt Guild members… I used a variety of techniques with these. I used a heat resistant mylar circle and cinched the circle fabric up around it, which make a nice round applique! I used freezer paper method on the leaf shapes, and the bias strip tool for the vine.

The gal who’s row I’m working on included a bag of scrap half square triangles. I picked out enough to make 3 pinwheel shapes per side. I used the mylar heat plastic, and cinched them up to make the circle flowers. Completed picture coming soon!
