I received this unexpectedly today from friends from the Epiphany Swap Group here on Flickr. I had no idea something like this was in the works! There was weeping… It will hang in a place of honor in our newly renovated home, as soon as we are able to get back in there… This photo was taken on the rental house next door (where we are currently living), since our front porch is dusty and messy and not really a good place for a photo right now.
I will treasure this quilt always, and what it means — that we are all connected as quilters, no matter how far apart we may live and whether or not we’ve ever met. Such a wonderful thing we have!
They also included some bitty blocks for my sweet husband (who got a kick out of being called “Mr. Messygoat”). I will take a photo of those later! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi! Me (ruthiequilts) here… Yay!!! Messygoat got her quilt! She had a fire in her home that caused extensive damage… We thought she needed a fabric hug! There were numerous quilters who sent blocks in from across the country and across the world! The blocks came to me and I joined them into the top. From here, it traveled to Pennsylvania to Sewgentle, who quilted it and bound it. From there, on to Messygoat. I am so pleased that she received it and that we were able to do it for her!
When people talk about the anonymity of the computer, projects like this remind me of the hearts of quilters behind all of the icons and computer names!!! What a wonderful world that we live in where we can participate in something like this! Hugs to all my quilty and crafty friends out there… 🙂
