As some of you may know, I belonged to a group on flickr called “The Bitty Block Committee” or BBC for short. I have over a thousand 3 inch blocks from swapping there 5+ years! (Yes, I joined in almost every swap!) While I didn’t officially add them to my UFO list for the UQG UFO Challenge, there are several sets that I have partially sewn into mini quilt tops. This happens to be one of them! I always joined in with Halloween swaps. (Who can resist?! They are so fun!!!) Thanks to all of my friends in the BBC who contributed blocks to this fun little quilt! And thanks to Nannette aka “Nanotchka” for the center “I spy Halloween”! I used my Scan and Cut 2 for the bats and corner cut outs around the edges. Fun machine! Thanks for visiting!!!

Another month gone… July’s finish!
August 1, 2018Trunk Full of Quilts!
November 10, 2015My good friend Soma at http://www.whimsandfancies.com is hosting an online Trunk Show… For those of you who follow my blog may have guessed, I have a trunk, closet, house, and garage full of quilts! Lots of them are little… But I have my share of big ones as well.
This little quilt was created for a “Not Square or Rectangle” mini quilt swap on flickr. I used a stained glass pattern, and bias strips for the black. I love this technique!
This little quilt was made for a Chinese Coin Swap on flickr… I used bullion roses to decorate the bottom.
This was for a place mat swap on flickr… (You’ll definitely see a theme here!)
This is a close up of the quilting on a Modern Doll Quilt Swap.
I made this little quilt for the precious baby sitting on it!
And this is me in my tiara, having won the “Recycled Quilt” Challenge for Roy Quilt Guild! The petals are made from Pistachio shells. I drilled holes in them and stitched them on like buttons…
I made this little NYB to swap with one of my friends… She made me 2 applique quilt tops in return!
I made this quilt with scraps for Happy Chemo. I took lots of pictures of it on a looong drive to Northern Montana.
This little snowman quilt was made for a swap on flickr…
I donated this little quilted clock to the Utah State Quilt Guild for a fundraiser.
In Layton, we swapped pre-cut teacups with fusible already applied. We were challenged to bring in our quilts the following month. This is what I came up with!
I know, you’re supposed to love all your children equally, but this is one of my favorite quilts! I was given several of the flower die cuts in Layton Quilt Guild as an on time drawing. I incorporated them into my “Show Stopper” challenge quilt which was supposed to show movement.
This is my Challenge quilt I made for Roy Quilt Guild. It represents “The Power of 13” I was given a fat quarter, and a package of buttons and came up with this design. It has 13 (or multiples) of each item. Plus I quilted 13 on the right hand side.
This was a swap piece that I experimented using micro quilting and fabric paint on… Love the way this came out!
This was a Fair Challenge Quilt summer before last. I used a UFO block I had made in a class in the center and designed the quilt around it.
Who doesn’t love Rat Zombie?! I still see a future in store for him…
I quilted this quilt for Roy Quilt Guild using “Bingo blocks” we had made. I added the white strips on the diagonal.
My claim to fame! (Or infamy as the case may be…) I swapped these house blocks with my friend Silvana over 12 months. When we were finished, I designed the quilt. I’d live here, wouldn’t you?!
Another flickr swap… I designed this myself.
This quilt was for the RJR Landscape Challenge at HMQS this year. It won an honorable mention… I called it “Crayon Canyon”.
This was made using the underwater/beach theme blocks I received in the BBC (Bitty Block Committee) on flickr.
We exchanged fabric colors in a small group that I belong to, “Prairie Fairies”. I put mine together differently for sake of the quilting.
This is this years’ Utah State Fair Challenge Quilt. The challenge fabric is the white with circle designs.
I made this one for a Kaffe Swap on FB.
Just finished this little quilt as a gift…

Clinton City Heritage Craft and Quilt Show…
July 10, 2015We had our quilt show for Clinton City’s Heritage Days on Wednesday… Here’s a little peak at some of the quilts!
The basket quilt on the left was made by Doris. The one on the right is made up of 56 bitty blocks from my friends in the BBC, “The Bitty Block Committee”. I just love this one! (I know it’s mine, but there are so many blocks from my friends all over the world, it’s almost like getting together with them in person!)
This one is just gorgeous! Made by Doris S.
And this lovely was made by my friend Vivian!
This one is my friend, Sheri’s… My friends are awesome! They came through with lots of entries!
My friend Susan made this stunner! Wowza!
Ruth and her family with the quilt she made honoring her sister who passed away this winter.
My friend Debbie and her beautiful little challenge quilt! Very Amish looking!
Becky and the quilt she made for her daughter… And who doesn’t love her minion shirt?!
And these two quilts were made by Destry and Denise. Denise is the one on the right, and she tied for first place with another gal! Isn’t that fun?
Especially since I begged her for quilts as we didn’t have enough! Thanks to all my awesome friends for making our quilt show a success!
And thanks to you for visiting my blog!
Look at what came in the mail today!
June 9, 2015That’s right! The NQA’s Quilting Quarterly Spring and Summer Issues in which mine and Silvana’s patterns are published!
It’s always fun to see your work in a magazine!
I really love the way they bordered the pages with the trees to look like banner flags!
And I really have been sewing a lot. I just have been neglecting taking pictures.
This is my sneak peek for my Zoo themed bitty blocks for the BBC…
Thanks for visiting!
Postcard bitties…
February 22, 2015This is a postcard bitty block I made for the BBC, (The Bitty Block Committee).
I had these well underway before my beloved Mother’s condition worsened… I was able to work on them
while spending time with her while other friends and family were visiting.
She passed away last Monday.
I will always cherish the time I had with her…
The Raven… (Or crow. Whichever you prefer!)
October 30, 2014Excerpt from “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe…
Caroling Snow Globe…
October 21, 2014The theme for this round of BBC blocks (The Bitty Block Committee) in flickr is “Winter Snow Globes”. This is the little pattern I designed for my block.Normally, I would do fusible applique for a block like this, but I haven’t had any luck since Steam A Seam 2 Lite went off the market.
I understand that they’re coming back soon! (I keep checking at my local hobby retailer without any luck!)
So I am needle turning all 10 of them! It will take me a while to get them done, but I have a little over a month!
The other set will be for crows, ravens, magpies, etc… That pattern is drafted, but I don’t have a model made up yet.
Guess that will be my next post! LOL!
Steam Punk Bitty Block…
August 9, 2014
This months theme was a fun one! Steam Punk…
I had fun looking for gadgets and gizmos for my blocks. I hit the craft store, and the home improvement store!
Lots of fun stuff!
This is my 3.5 inch block that I came up with… A Clockwork owl! His eyes are made up of 2 different types of
washers. And behind the clock:The rest of his gadgets and gizmos! The little pocket on the back side of his belly clock holds
a heart/locket shaped charm… This was a fun one to make. His green belly is fabric paint. I bought copper
wire and twirled it for the little shape myself. I love wire!
Thanks for stopping by!
My latest project…
July 6, 2014Thought you might like to see what I do with some of those bitty blocks that I swap in the BBC, Bitty Block Committee…I finally got this batch together… It was actually 2 swap groups, underwater/beach theme done twice due to the popularity!
Thanks to all my awesome friends who contributed the blocks in it!!
It makes me happy looking at it! I’ve taken close ups so you can see all of the blocks…
These pictures came out a little dark, but you can see the blocks!
I looked online for ocean themed sayings that I liked, and this is what I found…
The border is something I saw on FaceBook and had to try…
And it got the ever important kitty seal of approval!
I have to work my threads back into the quilt sandwich still, and figure out how I’m going to bind it…
Thanks for stopping by!
Pink and Red Bitty Block on White…
July 4, 2014Here is my latest bitty block for the BBC (Bitty Block Committee)…
The theme for this month was pink and red on a white background.
I decided to combine my recent love of bird watching with the heart theme when I designed my block.
I titled this one “Love Birds”. It features flying geese and a separate bird… I worried it was a little overkill, but went with it anyway! It measure 3.5 inches unfinished, and 3 inches finished! Hope you like it!
