Busy busy!

January 22, 2017

And it’s not getting ready to slow down anytime soon!

I have Bryce Winter Retreat coming up in a few weeks and plan on trying to get all of my client quilts done before I go…

Here is a quilt that I quilted for Lisa S.  What a fun quilt!100_5577And the back so you can see the quilting a little easier….100_5579I’m also working on a 50 Shades of Red swap on Flickr in the Mini QT Swap.

I found the center heart image on Free Heart Clip Art.  Love it!!!100_5622And I finished the Wonky House Quilts that we made in Roy Quilt Guild using mine and Silvana’s Patterns that were featured in The National Quilting Associations, “Quilting Quarterly”, although we did ours in 6 inches instead of 4.

100_5591Guild Members had to bring in their finished house block and they got a freebie tree block!  It really encouraged people to get their houses done!

And last but not least, I quilted this gorgeous quilt for my friend Susan H.  100_5582It was too mucky outside to get a picture of the whole thing,  but I quilted all 5o blocks with different backgrounds.  Talk about challenging!!!  Susan got these blocks at a yard sale.  The blue border fabric had bled onto the light backgrounds so the owner got rid of them.  Susan removed the offending fabric and was able to get out the blue coloring.  Didn’t this come out great?!

Missing in action, or Too busy to be believed?

September 16, 2016

Yes, I am still in the land of the living.  I told my friend Susie that I hadn’t been on the computer in about a week.

She’s said, “I think it’s been longer than that!”  Well, sure enough, it’s been almost 2 weeks!

I have been sewing sewing sewing…  Here are a few of the things I’ve been working on…

100_5352I quilted this quilt for my “Quilty Hugs” group that donates to local charities.  Emily with http://www.auntemsquilts.com/ has a group that meets with her once a month to work on these quilts…

100_5359This is Roy Quilt Guild members who have finished working on their mystery quilts.  (Okay, the 2 on the left are mine as I taught the mystery!)  I’ll post more next month as the tops come in…

100_5371And here’s my little quilt at the fair…  😉

100_5394This is Susie’s quilt that I quilted for her which she created using Emily’s pattern!  (I love that!)

100_5397I quilted this for a client!

100_5400And last, but not least is my “Going Coastal” quilty for the MQTS group on flickr.

It’s a pattern that I revamped a bit from a previous mini quilt that I designed.

I wanted something that represented Patrick’s State Park in California where we camped this summer.

Whew!

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll try to be better next time!  😉

Going “Coastal”…

September 5, 2016

Working on Pieces and Parts for my Coastal Swap on MQTS on flickr…  I drafted out my design and I’m starting with my piecing.  I decided to make 2 of them, one for me and one for my partner.  100_5348

Yes, I know my cutting board looks like crap, but it’s just a leftover I’m making use of!

100_5350The main piece is together!    I’m so glad I get to keep one!

Thanks for stopping by…

Teeny Tiny Quilt Swap!!!

August 17, 2016

Yes, I’m still a swap-a-holic…  The Mini QT Swap on flickr just offered a teeny tiny quilt swap.  I had to play along as I love Mini minis!!

This fabulous package came in the mail today!100_5182

100_5183

My partner made me the sweetest little mini quilt…  She measures 5 inches square!!!  So sweet!  Thank you thank you Thank you Cindy!  (aka yayaquilter)  I just love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

All finished! Plus a little FMQ’ing…

August 5, 2016

I got my mini mini all quilted!  I am of the opinion that a mini quilt needs mini quilting and binding.  I love the idea of making them to scale, although binding is pretty hard to make that small…  But here it is!

100_5144

It measures 5 1/2 inches square!  Woot!  Woot!

Our local guilds are participating in Utah Quilt Guild’s “Ruby Jubilee”.  They have requested that all of the guilds create a red and white quilt to celebrate their big birthday next year.  The quilts will go in a traveling show featured at numerous sites.  I quilted and headed up Roy Quilt Guild’s red and white quilt which was designed by Patsy Shelton, member extraordinaire, and helped create the blocks for Layton Quilt Guild’s red and white quilt.  Lorri Bashein designed and headed up Layton’s quilt.  I am in the process now of quilting it…  What a fun quilt!

100_5139

I saw this border on FB and thought it was so beautiful that I had to try it…  I really like it!  It’s perfect for a little bit wider sashing filler!

I’m doing this one all FMQ (free motion quilting).  Thanks for stopping by!

How small is too small?!

July 28, 2016

Yes, I do have a thing for little quilts!  The Mini QT Swap on flickr decided to do a tiny quilt swap, less than 6 inches, so I knew I had to play!  (Even though I’ve sworn off swapping.  It’s mini, I had to do it!  Oh, and next month is “Beach” theme, so I have to do that one as well!)

Anyhoo, staying to making my favorite block/quilt, I decided to do a mini NYB.  16 1 inch blocks.  Yes, I am nuts!  But they’re so cute…  And tiny…

100_5125

Here are the arcs waiting for the applique pieces to finish them…

100_5126

I’m making 2 of them as I already know I’ll want to keep the one I’m making!

So that’s the question…  How small is too small?!

Thanks for visiting!

I’ll show you the second place more closely as I love Helen Butler’s work!

100_1144

I quilted this one for my friend Vivian.100_1146It is such a fun little quilt!  100_1147The quilting on this one was simply amazing!  Plus I love the irregular border.

100_1153And this little lonestar just blew me away!!!  Itsy bitsy goodness!100_1148This one is based on a George Siciliano’s work…  He’s one of my heroes!

100_1155And Karen Marchetti’s quilting is amazing!!!

100_1161This one was one of my favorites as well…  I love everything about it!

I should have a lot more quilty goodness for you, but I’ve been a bit preoccupied shopping at the show…  Maybe I can drag myself away to see quilts tomorrow!  😉  Thanks for joining me!

Sewing sewing sewing…

April 26, 2016

Like a mad woman, I am!  I have been uber busy trying to stay caught up with all of my Guild projects over the last couple of weeks.  Thought you might like to see what I’m working on!

102_1100In Layton Quilt Guild we’re exchanging mugrugs each month.  This is the rug I made for “Rain” theme this month.

102_1101And then we’ve been doing a “Swaffle” block.  For each block we make we get our name in for a drawing to win the blocks.  I made 2, but didn’t win…  LOL!  Next time maybe!

102_1103And here are the Wonky Houses that I’m teaching the ladies in Layton Quilt Guild to make…

102_1106Just for fun, I wanted to show you the quilt that I worked on at “Happy Chemo” over the last several months.  It’s all finished and ready to go tot it’s recipient!  I love this one!

I have loads more to share at an upcoming post…  And HMQS is coming up in a couple of weeks!!!  I’m going shopping!

Thanks for joining me!

A Little Something…

February 18, 2016

Just wanted to show you all a little something I’m working on…  I’ll post more pictures after I enter it in a quilt show or two!

127_1005Because I am going to enter this into competition, I’ll go through with a red Micron pen and color all of those white stitches red so they won’t show.  I always use a light colored thread so I have the option of coloring it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Just a few things… Why I’ve been MIA a lot this last week.

January 17, 2016

I’ve been busy busy busy this last week or so…   These are the fun things I’ve been playing with!127_0938I’ll start here…  This is a redwork mini quilt I’ve been working on in the MQTS swap on flickr.  I am ready to quilt this baby!

127_0933Well, look at that…  All put together!

127_0892And a little prep work for Layton Quilt Guild for Thursday’s meeting…  We’re doing a modified wonky house block quilt.  This is my friend Silvana’s  house block design.  Anyone who finished the house by next month will get the tree block FREE!  Yes, that’s right…  FREE…
