As you probably remember, I was pretty bummed not to finish any UFO’s last month… (In the Utah Quilt Guild, we have been challenged to finish as many UFO’s as possible this year. My personal goal is to finish half of my counted UFO’s, which is 30 of 60! A UFO is an “Un- Finished Object”.)
Last month wasn’t exactly stellar, but I did manage to finish 2! (Plus I’ve made oodles of progress on about 4 more…)
I completed this one in the nick of time! It was made up with 25 3 inch blocks I received last year from members of Layton Quilt Guild for being President… I added the green blocks to give it an “Irish Chain” look. Yay for finish 1!
My next finish is from a billion years ago. Or maybe 15? Long time!!! It’s my Christmas Sew and Save quilt. I had started doing some applique and embroidery on it and stalled out as the metallic thread I was using wasn’t terribly soft.
Oh well… I unpicked a small section that I had barely started and quilted some motif in there… Bwahahaha. No idea what, and I’m too lazy to look!

And “Ta Da!” All done!
Here’s the back so you can see what I like to do with left-overs!
Thanks for visiting!!! See you all next month!
Smooches…

I quilted these two lovely quilts for Sara…
And the back…
I really enjoyed working on her Storm at Sea as well!
I did a couple of specialty areas you can see here:
And last but not least, I received this awesome swap in the flickr “Triptych” swap on MQTS.
Lots of awesome goodies, plus a beautiful triptych depicting the beauty of Utah!
I’m working like a mad woman to get some quilts ready for UQSM (aka HMQS under new ownership due to the untimely passing of HMQS’s previous owner.) 2 more labels to make and 2 more quilts to block and then I can get back to my regularly scheduled program!
Thanks for stopping by!

I have some quilts hanging at Union Station in Ogden this month…. I thought you might enjoy seeing them!
Here is my funky hand-dyed piece, “Steam Punk Milkyway”. I dyed the fabric, and then quilted the heck out of it, (shocking that I would do that right?! LOL!), adding some eyelash yarn around one of the “planets”. Then I painted some un-quilted areas using “Lumiere” metallic fabric paints by Jacquard. Lastly, I used some thin wire I had left over from my beading days and created swirls which I added to the un-quilted squares sandwiched between the “stairs” and hung some more tightly curled swirls on the moon.
This piece is called “Crayon Canyon”. I designed it from a photograph. This one hung in Padukah at the “National Quilt Museum” as part of the “Simply Southwest” exhibit. The picture doesn’t show the colors super well. They look like crayons! (That melted when left in a hot car all day.)
And last but not least, “Little Garden Beauty”. I used Kaffee prints on a neutral background. This is one of my faves!
Meanwhile, up the road at the Brigham City Museum, the Utah Quilt Guild’s Ruby Jubilee is in full swing! I have 2 quilts that I quilted for Roy, and Layton Quilt Guilds…
This one was titled, “Royal Stars” and was pieced by Roy Quilt Guild members, and designed by Patsy Shelton. I love this pattern!!!
And here comes Layton Quilt Guild’s quilt…

It was designed by Lorri Bashein, pieced by members of Layton Quilt Guild, and the center was hand embroidered by Brenda Sacher.
Thanks for visiting the exhibits with me!!!

I have been crazy busy! Story of my life lately… I rushed to get things done before I went to a quilting retreat at Bryce (which I’ll try to post on later). I didn’t quite get this done before I left a couple of weeks ago, but finished it within days of being home.
I’m going to enter it into a couple of shows, so I won’t show you the front until it goes “public”. (Although I have shown a few sneak peeks…)
Here’s a close up with a little more detail… I love the dyed back!!!
And I worked on 3 UFO’s while at Bryce. Here I’m auditioning a bird in the center… He made the cut! More on him later.
When I returned from Bryce, I received 8 customer quilts to quilt. Yikes! Guess what I’ve been doing?
This one is hanging at Union Station in Ogden right now. Pretty funky! I’ll be there tomorrow and will show you the whole thing.
And this guy is finally made in fabric. I designed the pattern last year but didn’t have time to work on it. It’s a long way from finished, but I imagine down the road he’ll be a finished pattern in quilt form.
And last but not least, another client quilt I’ve worked on. There are others as well, but I forgot to take there pictures! Poor neglected things…
I’m hoping that things will slow down a titch, but I just sent in my contract to teach at Quilt Fest. Guess that means I’ll add “whip up a pattern” to my to-do list!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Yes, I am still in the land of the living. I told my friend Susie that I hadn’t been on the computer in about a week.
She’s said, “I think it’s been longer than that!” Well, sure enough, it’s been almost 2 weeks!
I have been sewing sewing sewing… Here are a few of the things I’ve been working on…
I quilted this quilt for my “Quilty Hugs” group that donates to local charities. Emily with http://www.auntemsquilts.com/ has a group that meets with her once a month to work on these quilts…
This is Roy Quilt Guild members who have finished working on their mystery quilts. (Okay, the 2 on the left are mine as I taught the mystery!) I’ll post more next month as the tops come in…
And here’s my little quilt at the fair… 😉
This is Susie’s quilt that I quilted for her which she created using Emily’s pattern! (I love that!)
I quilted this for a client!
And last, but not least is my “Going Coastal” quilty for the MQTS group on flickr.
It’s a pattern that I revamped a bit from a previous mini quilt that I designed.
I wanted something that represented Patrick’s State Park in California where we camped this summer.
Whew!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll try to be better next time! 😉

Working on Pieces and Parts for my Coastal Swap on MQTS on flickr… I drafted out my design and I’m starting with my piecing. I decided to make 2 of them, one for me and one for my partner.
Yes, I know my cutting board looks like crap, but it’s just a leftover I’m making use of!
The main piece is together! I’m so glad I get to keep one!

I got my mini mini all quilted! I am of the opinion that a mini quilt needs mini quilting and binding. I love the idea of making them to scale, although binding is pretty hard to make that small… But here it is!

It measures 5 1/2 inches square! Woot! Woot!
Our local guilds are participating in Utah Quilt Guild’s “Ruby Jubilee”. They have requested that all of the guilds create a red and white quilt to celebrate their big birthday next year. The quilts will go in a traveling show featured at numerous sites. I quilted and headed up Roy Quilt Guild’s red and white quilt which was designed by Patsy Shelton, member extraordinaire, and helped create the blocks for Layton Quilt Guild’s red and white quilt. Lorri Bashein designed and headed up Layton’s quilt. I am in the process now of quilting it… What a fun quilt!

I saw this border on FB and thought it was so beautiful that I had to try it… I really like it! It’s perfect for a little bit wider sashing filler!
I’m doing this one all FMQ (free motion quilting). Thanks for stopping by!

I asked myself, “Can I do it?” The answer is, “Yes I can!”
Here is the completed Teeny Tiny quilt swap that I am making for my partner on flickr in the MQTS (Mini QT Swap) group. I’ve made 2 of them so I could keep one for myself… (Although mine is different colors/layout!)
I don’t know if you remember or not, but my mini quilt “Wee Red and White Delight was made using 1.5 inch blocks finished. This one is 1 inch finished blocks… I don’t think I want to try it any smaller. (Unless…)

Yes, I do have a thing for little quilts! The Mini QT Swap on flickr decided to do a tiny quilt swap, less than 6 inches, so I knew I had to play! (Even though I’ve sworn off swapping. It’s mini, I had to do it! Oh, and next month is “Beach” theme, so I have to do that one as well!)
Anyhoo, staying to making my favorite block/quilt, I decided to do a mini NYB. 16 1 inch blocks. Yes, I am nuts! But they’re so cute… And tiny…

Here are the arcs waiting for the applique pieces to finish them…

I’m making 2 of them as I already know I’ll want to keep the one I’m making!
So that’s the question… How small is too small?!
Thanks for visiting!
